House of the Day: CH 8-Family Shell
A lot will depend on its exact location, but this shell of a building might be an interesting play at $150 a square foot. The 6,200-square-foot 8-family house needs a full gut renovation but it's certainly a nice looking building. Condos? Apparently the current owner already has submitted plans for 8 units. Enterprising souls may want to throw a call into Geraldine Harper of Paramount Realty Services at (845) 401-1396. If anyone finds out where this is, please let us know.

This is also on Pacific Street, between Nostrand and New York, and is directly across the street from your other listing at 1284 Pacific. It has been empty a couple of years, and is a great building. A friend who was interested in it for a while told me that some of the apartments still have some original detail left, including a couple of built in cabinets, and are currently one and two bedroom apartments, one front and one rear, per floor. I've seen plumbers and electricians working there, so perhaps it has had some upgrades.
If someone bought this and the building across the street, that would go a long way towards bettering what could be a very nice block. We are only 3 blocks from the A train at Nostrand Ave, one block from the LIRR station at Nostrand, and a couple of blocks away from banking and an excellent supermarket - Foodtown.

I bet that's a whole lot of potential waiting to be discovered. I was so curious to see the pics and now the link is gone on Craigs list. Sniff.
