Co-op of the Day: Eastern Parkway 2-Bedroom

house
We didn't touch much on Eastern Parkway this week but thought this BHS listing was worth pointing out. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath pad has been recently renovated and the floors and moldings look great. We're not big fans of black granite, but someone clearly put some effort into the new kitchen as well. The only negative we can see is the lack of elevator. We're not sure of the square footage but we'd hazard a guess that it's between 900 and 1,000. It's hard to tell how big a building this is. Anyone know?

looks like a great apartment, spacious and airy. Price looks great, and unless it's on the 5th floor, lack of elevator is annoying, but shouldn't be a deal breaker if you are somewhat fit. You won't have to buy a stairmaster, although I would hate to have to haul groceries up a lot of stairs. But, again, it's a great price. From the description, it's really close to PS, the Museum, Botanical Gardens. If I was in the market for a Brooklyn coop, I'd definitely check it out.

Up at the copley building you gotta pay 600k for that space. On the other hand, prices drop fast with each block down eastern parkway and you have no elevator (what floor is it??).

Looks nice, price is nice, though no pets kind of hurts it IMO. The walkup wouldn't bother me either. However, it's a 5 room coop with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms...so is the kitchen the 5th room? Or are we not counting the bathrooms?

I agree - bad on the no pets rule, my kitties would be upset too.

From the train description, sounds like it's right near Franklin Ave.

Still sounds like a good deal, though.

I looked at this place few weeks ago. It's on the second floor, that's an Ikea kitchen, the estimate of 900 - 1000 feet is a wee bit generous, sneezing distance to the subway, the broker Ann is an incredibly nice woman, the "renovation" is really more like a new paint job-- IMHO, I believe the property is worth the ask. Been on the market awhile now though.

CHP is right. It is 358 Eastern Pkway, unit 2, about 900 sq ft.

Bathrooms never count as rooms. That would be too awful. In many parts of the world, the kitchen doesn't count either. In France, for example, a trois pieces or F3 has a kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms (and any number of bathrooms, although it's usually one). Reminds me of the person who thought the bathroom was in the same room as everything else in a studio apartment, because it said only one room.

I looked at it as well. DR and LR are good size but bedrooms are tiny. The bathrooms would have to be revamped as well, IMO (I think they were new...cheapy done, but new.). 900 sq. feet.

Corcoran is selling the apartments right next door for a hell of a lot more.

Price and distance from train is great. Not sure why it's on the market for so long...
