The Planet PLG link, about 205Parkside, omits this important update which was posted on PPLG yesterday:

"PARKSIDE SHOCKER: Is This Like Nixon "Resigning"?
205 Parkside Avenue variance request is "withdrawn" at yesterday's BSA hearing.
Did the Prince Hotel Group prefer a graceful exit to a denial? Do they have other plans for the building that the community can embrace? We have a lot of questions and we will try to get some answers. In the meantime thanks go out to PLUS, Ocean by the Park Block Association and Yvette Clarke (who sent a letter and spoke with the BSA) for applying pressure against this variance request."

Ha, I suppose you're right, the buildings in the back don't match. And the statue is right on the edge. Hey, ask him, I just liked the photo. Maybe it's a composite?

I love that shot! The Italian Renaissance artist Uccello once painted an equestrian monument for a general's tomb. Uccello had a great sense of humor and loved playing with perspective. When he finished the perspective he used gave that exact same view. The most you saw of the general's portrait was the bottom of his boots. Needless to say, the city made him repaint it. You can still see it today- the general on his horse is now in classic, straight on perspective and the monument base is still in the original upward angled slant.

Yeah but it is still not Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn. It is grand army plaza, manhattan! (Like at 59th Street and 5th Avenue!) Ooops.

oh I know- but I was concentrating on the obvious "artistic" focus of the shot. :-)
