OK, so these aren't examples of great architecture, but you seem to always pick out working-class, contractor-designed housing, OR Hassidic housing (you can tell by the staggered balconies). It all comes off smelling a little elitist and maybe even a bit ethnocentric. Lets face it, they didn't burn down some historic brownstone to build most of these.

I think the point is that working class, or Hasidic developed, doesn't have to be ugly. Plain and inexpensive would be better than ugly and inexpensive in my book.

i agree with teonyc. These type of buildings have got to be the ugliest things every built.
It looks like they've gone out of their way to build these monstrosities.
What's worse than the people who build these type of buildings are the people who move into them.
Check out the messerole "fedders" buildings that are going for a million.

I guess they'll only stop going up when people stop moving into them.
