Another Batch of Northside Condos Hits Market

condos
Karl Fischer is at it again, this time crafting "luxurious and thoughtfully designed" townhouse-like condos at Roebling and North 8th in Williamsburg. As of yesterday, powerhouse Elliman broker Helene Luchnick is taking orders for Roebling Square's 36 one- and two-bedroom residences, which we figure means another 70 or 80 people standing around on the L Train platform watching train by train go by every morning. Apartments start in the "mid-$500s" according to the press release. What are you waiting for, people! Given the price cuts underway at 55 Berry, the developers may be pissing into the wind on this one.

It happens to be the same developer of 55 Berry.

DO you think 'townhouse style living' means its a walk-up?

These units have some silly looking bathroom sinks.

these are awful, even by recent wburg development standards. small, poorly laid out with, yes, silly looking sinks.

interesting that it's the same developer as 55 berry, inasmuch as he stopped using powerhouse elliman broker helene luchnick and switched to corcoran after they couldn't sell half the building in a year.

I walk by this place every day and the illustration makes it look marginally better than it actually is; this building is remarkably ugly. Normally, a place so fugged out looks like the builder just threw something together. But this is a calculated assault on your eyeballs.

So they're finally finishing it? Hasn't this been in construction for quite a while?

And yeah, there couldn't be anything less "townhouse" about this design.

These have been on the market for a few months. They are indeed walkups. The ceilings are high and the finishes are nice.

I don't totally hate the buidling, it looks like they are going for a converted schoolhouse look, but the entrances are completely ridiculous looking ...totally out of scale greek revival. Additionally the two bow fronts at one end of the building don't make sense to me. A real mishmash.
