Does anyone know what this building was used for when that sign was painted? I'm thinking maybe volatile materials could have been handled or storaged there.
It reminds me of a wheat processing silo/granary/mill house adjacent to a corporate bakery's main operation, which has "no smoking in area during grinding" painted in huge letter on the building.

Do we know if the beard street factory building on the pier rents out? Does anyone have the contact info? I'm in love with the view from there- just the right distance away from the hubub.
