Street Sign As Key Selling Point

gates
Corcoran usually distinguishes itself with the informational and photographic content of its listings. So we were scratching our head when we saw this listing for a two-family brick on Gates Avenue in Bed Stuy. They motivated to take a photo of the street sign but couldn't be bothered with the facade? What are they hiding?

possibly because they didn't get around to taking and posting pictures? usually i notice that they put the listing up w/o any pictures until they get to the seller's house and take more pics. usually takes a few days.

perhaps gates has come into its own...

I agree, sometimes they have past photos of street signs that they will throw up until they get over there to shoot the property.

I believe agents do this when they don't have an exclusive. They don't want customers to see the house on the Corcoran website, make the owner an offer, and leave out the broker.

they'll be pictures before the end of the day I bet. they do this sometimes

Actually, they have been using this picture for months. Maybe today will be the day they fix it, but I doubt it.

It's been that way on their site for quite a while. Soooooooooooooo tacky...Come on Corcoran, your "slip is hanging"!

It's the broker. If you check his other listings, he frequently provides only one picture, or none at all. scarce on floorplans too. He seems to have tons of "development" or "investment" properties, which I guess means they're not worth "looking" at.

That's probably what's going on. They'd rather have us make fun of the sign photo than the fugly new construction!

A hint about Corcoran’s web site: when they don’t give the address you can *almost* always find it by clicking “map”. This one is 574 Gates, for anyone that wants to find other sources for information.

While it's fun to hate Corcoran, they do not put sale properties on their site that do not signed exclusives. As for your problem with the agent's presentation, if the seller isn't complaining why are you?

Given how long this property has been for sale, I'd be surprised if the seller hasn't been complaining. But if this really is Corcoran's exclusive and they have used the Gates sign to adverstise for at least a couple of months, there must be something fishy w/ the property.
