Fort Greene Dining Doubleshot: Chez Oscar & Ici
Chez Oscar
The brunch crowd is large here but easygoing, like the neighborhood. Start with a fresh strawberry mimosa. Then go for the ham-and-cheese crepes as you watch the neighborhood pass by. (718) 852-6250; 211 DeKalb Avenue. GMAP
Ici
Ici has the intentions and soul of a neighborhood bistro, not a destination restaurant, although it turns out to be a pleasant destination. Its menu lists about eight appetizers and eight entrees, among them braised pork shoulder with Anson Mills grits, Brussels sprouts and pecans, and oven-baked short ribs with celeriac puree and roasted vegetables. (718) 789-2778;
246 DeKalb Avenue. GMAP

I have only good things to sy about ICI and their welcoming vibe. I like that the owner and his wife always seem to be there and are hands on. Lovely decorating job they did, too.

ICI supports local farmers by using local produce, including that grown in Red Hook. Delish and socially conscious. Woot!
