Brooklyn's Hollywood East Makeover Continues?

liv + house
While her publicist is denying she's going anywhere, actress Liv Tyler is rumored to have toured the most expensive brownstone in Brooklyn recently. Initially listed with Brown Harris Stevens last spring for $20 million, the five-story, 8,000-square-foot house overlooking the promenade first had its price dropped to $16 million before being taken off the market and now appears to be listed with Corcoran for $14.5 million. We wouldn't be surprised if in the end someone shells out this kind of money for the house. Hard to beat the location, that's for sure.

I was going to bid on that one. Might make a nice fall home.

just last year these Columbia Height houses went for 5mm, 6mm, 10mm. 3 sales. hard to think it's worth 14.5mm, esp. with that renovation

Paul Giamatti owns a condo or something around there. When I worked in Bkyn Hts, I would see him every morning getting breakfast (or something) on Montague.

Don't try to talk to Paul Giamatti when you see him around the neighborhood. He is a standoffish guy. He moved here to lead a low-key life. I guess he doesn't want people going up to him begging him to scream "I am NOT drinking any fucking Merlot!"

Once I was walking down Atlantic and saw Giamatti and looked at him and he threatened to punch me in the face if I ever looked at him again...he is a little too much like his character in Sideways. I don't know if he drinks merlot in real life though.

No he DID NOT!

How come Giamatti doesn't own one of those brownstones? What is he doing in some crappy co-op? He should have bought into 70 Washington at least (wine coolers). Or 60 Tiffany. That place seems to suit him as well.

Giamatti punched my dog one morning because it urinated on

Posted by: Anonymous at February 9, 2006 3:38 AM

Giamatti pulled a knife on my baby for crying on Hicks Street.

Giamatti stole my baby while I was waiting for a bagel on Montague.

Giamatti told me he's going to tear down some houses on the Promenade and build Fedders homes.

He kicked my dog and spit in my coffee. For NO reason!
