Red Hook: Stately Renovated Brick

red hook
One of my favorite buildings in the neighborhood, I'm not sure if it was originally a warehouse or some kind of carriage house, but regardless this stately brick has in my opinion been elegantly renovated with style to spare. Many of the streets in this part of Red Hook known as The Back are still lined with the original cobblestone, as can be seen at the bottom of this shot.

I looked at buying this place back about 1o years ago. It was a wreck. Bless their souls who ever had the guts to do the reno.

Not only did they reno it, they're building two new buildings adjacent to it in a similar style. It looks amazing from the elevations. It's now as I understand it a live/work space for a parachute manufacturer of all things. www.atairaerospace.com
