Cobble Hill Documentary Rolling

filming
The casting call we posted for the Cobble Hill documentary unearthed at least one denizen willing to bare her soul on camera. This picture captures local artist LJ Lindhurst being filmed in her studio at 423 Smith Street. We can't wait to check out the finished product at the Inman Stories website.
LJ Lindhurst, Supahstar! [423 Smith]
A Chance to Be in Pictures [Brownstoner]

Comments

After filming at our studio, Chris Chambers (of Inman) and LJ headed over to the social club on the corner of Court and 4th Place. According to LJ, the men of the Van Westerhout Cittadini Molesi Social Club were a hoot! Unfortunately LJ felt a bit uncomfortable in the club and left Chris alone with the gents so we don't have the inside scoop on what was said. Can't wait to hear what they have to say about the neighborhood and its changes over the years.

Since when is 423 Smith Street (or any address on Smith Street) in Cobble Hill?

It's not - we are proud of Carroll Gardens and would never consider our location to be Cobble Hill. I guess the fact that LJ lives in Cobble Hill was all that was required. The piece isn't about the studio but about the changes LJ has seen in the neighborhood over the last 12 years or so.

I would assume that the comments of the men at the socal club would be all about Carroll Gardens so maybe Inman will actually title this piece Carroll Gardens instead of Cobble Hill.

Smith Street is in Boerum Hill. 4th Street is in Carroll Gardens. I guess they did not want to film in Cobble Hill after all.

Actually its 4th Place and Smith street runs through Downtown, Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens and Red Hook.
