House of the Day: Brick Colonial on Albemarle

house
We missed this house on Albemarle Road for our Open House Picks this week but are curious to hear from anyone who attended on Sunday. At $1,450,000, the price is on the high end for the neighborhood but it looks like it could be worth it in this case given the 7 bedrooms, garage and billiard room. There aren't a lot of pics on the A&H website, so we'd like to hear whether you think the interior finishes and details justify the price tag. Is this the best location in the area?

At that price, I was expecting a beautiful interior with lots of original detail, thereby justifying the number. Alas . . . .

Brownstoner, if you like this then you must check out the mansion on Maple Street that is being sold through Brown Harris Stevens, I think.

I looked at 51 Maple St (asking $1.1M) It is a great property if you have about $350k to add for new kitchen, baths, etc. If you look at it, see if you have the guts to take down the garage and end the driveway at the car-port. This would give you a phenomenal back yard.

This house, although it has an Albermarle Terrace address, does NOT face Albemarle. It faces Stratford, and is very close to Church. Also exterior has had alterations, including an unattractive deck with a cheap metal railing, which is visible from the front of the house. I suspect there has been much interior "renovation" over the years as well.

I live in Ditmas Park, but looked at a Georgian on Maple Street three years ago... The house was gorgeous. As good or better than anything we saw in Ditmas Park. In the end we chose a lesser house in Ditmas for the neighborhood. Given the recent/continuint renaissance on Cortelyou Road, we made the right choice for us. But, I still dream of that Georgian on Maple every now and then....

Three phrases should be among the most common in our daily usage. They are: Thank you, I am grateful and I appreciate.
