Building Rush In Anticipation of Downzoning

There are a few interesting numbers put forth in today's Daily News story about the rush to lay foundations in advance of the anticipated "downzoning" of the 50-block area from 15th to 24th Streets between Fourth Avenue and Prospect Park West:

  • "On every block, there's two or three construction sites."--Randy Peers of CB7

  • There are at least 30 oversized project in Greenwood Heights.--Aaron Brashear of the Concerned Citizens of Greenwood Heights

  • There are five buildings with 70 units going up on 23rd Street alone.--Aaron Brashear

And the bubble will burst and there will be all these two-third finished buildings that will then be outfitted with low quality stuff and sold on the cheap by developer LLCs running out of liquidity...lovely.

These jackass builders on 15th St. don't even
give the concrete a day to cure before they are
pouring new cement on top of it.

I hope Katan and Bricolage/Rudusky eat shit and
die before they get paid on these monstrocities.
(Not a threat, just wishful thinking>:P)
