The Flea's Fall Furniture Festival kicks off this Sunday, with 6 of our borough's coolest up-and-coming furniture designer/makers showcasing their wares in a special section--spots B7-12, to the right off the handball wall when you walk in. Every Sunday in October we'll be showcasing a rotating cast of designers, all of whom were carefully selected by our pals (and old-school Fleasters) Greenjeans.
The designers themselves will be on-hand to talk about their craftspersonship (and whatever else you wanna talk about, like the Red Sox or Cubs or Palin or debt), which is a nice intimate setting for meeting some of the brightest members of Brooklyn's creative class. Our little furniture scene is hot poop across the nation, so don't miss the opportunity to check it out up close and personal.
Of course, feel free to also purchase a locally made, environmentally happy, unique piece of furniture while you're at it. (Affordable and one-of-a-kind prototypes and samples will be sprinkled among the bounty--every piece tells a story!)
