Heres’s the list of the Brooklyn Building Award winners announced today. Among those honored, our friends at Third + Bond (pictured, awarded as a residential low rise), BLDG 92 for civic/institutional use, Jane’s Carousel for recreational facility, Restoration Plaza for open space, 220 Water Street for residential, and Medgar Evans College for education. These newly built or renovated projects were judged on the level of innovation, economic impact, sustainability, urban context/design, contribution to neighborhood, and of course, ‘Brooklyn-ness.’ Congrats to all the winners! The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce will also recognize Michelle de la Uz of the Fifth Avenue Committee and David Von Spreckelsen of Toll Brothers for their work in the borough. The ceremony and cocktail reception will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook.

  1. Not sure what we are rewarding third + bond for their construction was 100% not neighbor friendly in fact caused major damage to the 100+ yr old homes on the block. I’m talking attached houses separating from each other, huge structural cracks in the walls, I could go on. And their approach in handling their mess was offensive and not effective of course the usual run around its not our fault etc. 2 big thumbs down to third + bond shame on u
