Remember the Mexican restaurant that was trying to get a liquor license for the storefront at 158 Baltic Street at the corner of Henry? A reader wrote in to tell us that new cement sidewalks were poured last month and tree pits have been wired for electricity to provide lighting for curbside cafe tables along Baltic Street. And about that liquor license: We were told by a rep at Community Board 6 that because the license is only for wine and beer (due to the proximity to a school) the license ultimately does not need community board approval, hence the application to the State Liquor Authority posted in the window. The storefront, back in 2010, was first slated to be a sandwich joint.
