The big news from the Barclays Center is that Jay-Z’s new 40/40 Club is set to open on the “Barclays Brownstone Suite Level.” The 350-seat restaurant will have 36 televisions and views of the basketball court. As expected, there has been lots of concern about bottle service, the late last call at 2am, and the fact that the Barclays Center withheld the details about last call from the community boards.

Williamsburg/Greenpoint
Eater checks out the new menu at Isa, which is now featuring “casual Mediterranean.” A Sunday farmers market is now open at McGolrick Park. Mercado on Kent, an ambitious Basque restaurant at 291 Kent Avenue, shuttered after six months in business. And the owner of Clinton Hill’s Maggie Brown restaurant and Emerson bar will open a sustainable sushi restaurant at 545 Lorimer Street. It’s called Suzume, Japanese for “sparrow.”

Park Slope
The 81-year-old bar O’Connor’s has closed and a renovation is underway, reports HPS. It will be transformed into a sports bar and Irish pub. Cafe Dada is open at the old Ozzie’s space on 7th Avenue and Lincoln. And Indian restaurant Baluchi’s was shut down by the DOH.

Elsewhere
Brooklyn Brine opened its new retail shop on President Street, right near Fourth Ave in Gowanus. Eater tours Hillside, the cafe that the Vinegar Hill House owners built out next door in Vinegar Hill. Ruby’s in Coney Island gets new, lifeless signage as an agreement with Central Amusements, the company trying to turn Coney into a more upscale tourist destination. And in Dumbo, the ReRun Gastropub Theater will close for for an unspecified period of time while the owners decide what to do with the movie theater space next.
