While the summer may still feel a little ways away, Williamsburg’s eighth annual Northside Festival is already gearing up for its June multimedia showcase, with the headliners just announced.
Among this year’s big-name acts — all performing at McCarren Park — are the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson performing the group’s 1966 hit album Pet Sounds, a co-headlining show from Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst and country singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves, and a free (with RSVP) set by indie-rock group Wolf Parade.
In addition, more than 400 other artists and DJs — the vast majority of whom have not been announced — will take the stage at various North Brooklyn venues.
Along with the musical component are Northside Innovation, a conference and expo with panels featuring speakers from the tech, media and design industries, and Northside Content, a series of discussions, Q&As and more.
Northside’s various performances and presentations will span June 6-12, with the musical performances only taking place June 9-12. In the past, the event has attracted an audience of more than 100,000 people.
Badges for admission into all music, innovation or content events are available online, as well as a list of all announced speakers, performers and expos. Tickets for individual shows can be purchased online through Northside and various venues’ websites.
