Hotel Proposed for Dumbo's 247 Water Street

A building at 247 Water Street in Dumbo that was famously the site of a bitter landlord-tenant dispute and a fire could become a hotel. The owner filed a new building application in January to build a seven-story hotel while partially preserving the existing structure but the plans were disapproved in April.

Renderings and a description by AB Architekten show an eight-story hotel with 46,000 square feet, a restaurant, lounges and a gym. It was initially scheduled to be completed this year. Click through to the architect’s site for more renderings. What do you think of the design?
