Finally Some Activity at the Old Tillie’s Space

When Tillie’s closed up shop in early 2012, it was the end of an era in Fort Greene. After all, the cafe had been a center of the community for 14 years. In the aftermath of the closing, it was reported that a new bar/cafe would open in the space at 248 Dekalb Avenue by last summer. And then…nothing happened. And…nothing happened. So it was with great surprise that we pedaled past earlier this week and noticed that work was under way. That jibes with a recently approved permit from the DOB that’s posted in the window. Also posted in the window: Some kind of logo that presumably refers to the new joint’s name. We’ve got a photo of it on the jump. Anyone know what it stands for? GMAP
