Casual and moderately priced eateries Westville and Dig Inn are bringing their American fare to Dumbo.

Manhattan-based restaurant Westville, known for its ample and regularly changing seasonal menu, is opening its first Brooklyn outpost at Two Trees’ 81 Washington Street.

The eatery, which currently has four Manhattan locations, has leased a 2,536-square-foot space, which includes an enclosed side deck, in the 19th-century property, an American Round Arch Factory–style building. The building also houses Recess Dumbo, a locally operated children’s recreation space, and Black & Rogue, a wine shop.

“We feel we’d fit right into the community there because of our type of restaurant and the demographic there,” founding partner Jay Strauss said of the expansion to Dumbo, adding, “it’s a live/work environment and we like to position ourselves in live/work areas.”

The Brooklyn spot is expected to open in the late summer or early fall, and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from the same menu as Westville’s Manhattan locations. Westville’s offerings are a combination of salads and sandwiches, as well as typical American fare like burgers and hot dogs (meat and vegetarian-friendly). One of the eatery’s other staples is its large, rotating selection of market vegetables, offered as side dishes or as a entree-sized combination platter.

Most breakfast and lunch dishes will be in the $10 to $15 range, while dinner entrees range from $15 to $26.

In addition to Westville, the farm-to-table lunch counter, seasonal market and American bistro Dig Inn is also making its first venture into Brooklyn with a forthcoming spot in Kushner Properties’ sprawling Dumbo Heights office complex. The company, which currently has 11 Manhattan locations, signed a lease for 2,525 square feet of space back in May at 55 Prospect Street, the Daily News reported.

There’s already signage in the window of Dig Inn’s new location, but a spokesperson for the company would not confirm to Brownstoner that it is opening in Brooklyn.

If it’s similar to the Manhattan outposts, you can expect plates of mix-and-match grains, meats and other proteins, and market vegetables (among them, roasted kale with caramelized onion, citrus salad and Sicilian cauliflower), with entree-sized portions usually costing $8 to $13.
