A pop-up plaza is now up at the western end of Jay Street, in Dumbo, near the East River inlet and the fenced-in Con Ed station. The space includes seating, umbrellas and planters. Local design firm, Mark Jupiter, designed and built the reclaimed wood benches for the plaza. According to the company, “these custom benches were handmade in our showroom right down the street with wood from a recently renovated warehouse also just a block away! It doesn’t get more local than this!” Nearby firm, Alloy Development, donated the materials. You can see another view of the beach setup right here.
