For the last several weeks, WNYC and The Nation’s There Goes the Neighborhood podcast has explored the “destabilizing phenomenon” of gentrification in Brooklyn through the experiences of current residents, business owners and developers.

Using in-depth interviews with local residents, the series has painted a portrait of the gentrification phenomenon’s impact on the borough, from rent hikes to tenant harassment and rezoning. One episode featured people who have been pressured to move out of their apartments or feel guilty for moving in; another focused on a woman who’s lived in her Williamsburg apartment for 25 years, despite her landlord’s attempts to force her out.

To mark the end of the show’s run, the creators are continuing the conversation in a live setting, bringing together thinkers, writers, comedians and some of the voices from the series to discuss the realities of living in a gentrifying neighborhood.
