The Brooklyn Film Festival returns next week for its 19th annual showcase of local and international independent films, with this year’s theme being “Experiment.”

From June 3-12, the fest will screen more than 100 features from 31 countries, including 20 world premiers, at five venues spread across Brooklyn. Participating venues are Williamsburg’s Wythe Hotel, Greenpoint’s Windmill Studios NYC, Bushwick’s Syndicated, Dumbo’s Made in NY Media Center and Fort Greene’s BRIC.

The film lineup explores various genres and themes from festival opener Borealis, an award-winning narrative feature about an unemployed gambler who is on a dangerous road trip with his teenaged daughter, to Embers, which takes place following a global neurological epidemic where survivors have no memory.

The festival takes place from Friday, June 3, to Sunday, June 12, with opening night screening and party passes available for $35, single-program tickets available for $13 ($10 for students and seniors), and full-festival passes available for $100, all of which can be purchased online. A full lineup and more information about the movies is available on the festival’s website.
