Expansion plans are in the works at Brooklyn Bridge Park, specifically at the unused area of the Main Street Park in Dumbo, where the Department of Environmental Protection building and the Department of Transportation paint shed are located (pictured). According to a PDF released by Brooklyn Bridge Park, there are considerations in place for a sports court, dog run, skate park, boating program or climbing wall. Representatives will be at the Community Board Two parks meeting at 6 pm on Monday, Oct. 15 at 121 Dekalb Avenue to discuss the design for the “proposed Main Street conversion site.” BBP’s proposed timeline is that the full board review the plans in November, BBP presents to the Public Design Commission in December, and then they submit a design to the National Parks Service in January of next year.
