Last night Community Board 8 approved a full liquor licence for a very exciting addition to Washington Avenue: popular Park Slope Italian restaurant Al Di La is expanding to 791 Washington Ave, currently Teddy’s Restaurant. The owners close on the space at the end of the month and hope to open by December. Here are the details: there will be 36 seats inside and 38 out, fairly consistant with the setup Teddy’s has now. Hours will be 11am to 11pm. During the day there will be counter service with simple soups and salads. For evenings expect wait service dishing out “simple, affordable” pasta and salads. No other specifics beyond that, but the owner of Al Di La promised the same fresh ingredients used at the Park Slope location. The spot won’t go by the same name as the original, but a new name hasn’t been decided on yet. This sounds like a serious game changer for Washington Avenue. Pumped? GMAP
