And the fight for the Windsor Terrace Key Food goes on. Windsor Terrace-Kensington Patch reported that the Walgreens planned for the now-empty Key Food space is negotiating with a nearby Key Food to open a dual pharmacy and grocery store. The Walgreens was previously slated to open in the space next spring. Assemblyman Jim Brennan told a group of Windsor Terrace residents that the plan is under discussion, but there is no deal yet. The neighborhood group called Green Beans Not Walgreens has rallied against the neighborhood losing its only grocery store. Over the summer local pols joined the cause as well. Patch reports that 5,000 residents have signed a petition against the coming pharmacy chain. Here’s a list of what the community feels like it actually needs.
