House for Rent Brooklyn -- 134 Hoyt Street

This two-bedroom rental is distinctive and charming, set in a private carriage house on Hoyt Street in Boerum Hill. It’s got a loft-like feel, with its big open living space and exposed brick.

It also gets a ton of light, with a full bank of windows facing the street, and several more opposite. Blond wood doors, shutters and window frames add to the bright feel.

The listing, resorting to no euphemisms, calls the bedrooms “small,” but the home also has one and a half baths. One bedroom and the half bath have radiant heat.

There are a couple of quirks. The front door opens right into the kitchen, and said kitchen is small, with minimal counter space. There’s an island with a granite countertop, but it’s set at a remove from the actual kitchen — truly island-like, you could say.

The front windows look right out onto Hoyt Street, though there are half-shutters on the bottoms, so you can get some privacy without blocking all the light. Street noise could be an issue though.

There’s “good storage space” and a washer/dryer, says the listing, from Chaim Sully Klein of Ideal Properties. Location is favorable, a block from the F and G trains.

The rent: $4,250 a month, which doesn’t seem too big a reach. Would you pay that to live here?
