Greenpoint Brooklyn Environmental Initiatives -- Residents Vote on Projects

What does a greener Greenpoint look like? The Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund plans to find out.

Created from the Exxon oil spill settlement payout, the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund is working to finance environmental initiatives in the area.

If you’re a Greenpoint resident, check out the projects on GCEF’s website, then come out and vote for the ones you’d like to see in the area.

The Environmental Fund will use results to gauge community preference, and decide which projects are most important to residents. Possibilities include restoring McGolrick Park and bringing air quality sensor equipments to locals.

The first voting date has passed, but the second will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, at Warsaw at the Polish National Home, at 262 Driggs Avenue.
