This four-story Italianate brick row house is a beaut, with much to recommend it and no glaring flaws. Located at 14 Cambridge Place in Clinton Hill, it offers rich detail, ample space, a practical layout, several outdoor spaces, superior condition and a location on a nice block.
Details include leaded glass, ornate ceilings and crown moldings in the double parlor, several fireplaces, inlaid floors and wall moldings. There’s some lovely carved woodwork as well — note the elaborate wood mantel in the dining room and the finely ornamented piece in the entryway combining a coat rack, a bench, shelves and a mirror.
It’s a gem of a double parlor, all told, with floor-to-ceiling windows in the front, natural door and window moldings and a pair of fireplaces.
Behind it, in what appears to be an addition, sits the kitchen, updated with oak cabinets, stone countertops, a massive Wolf stove, and a SubZero fridge. A single door leads to a deck, with steps down to the yard. It might be nice to open that back wall up, and put in some sliding doors, though there’s a skylight to brighten things.
As currently configured, the house has a pair of studio apartments on the garden level; the owners get a triplex with four bedrooms, two apiece on the top two floors. The bedrooms are good sized, and there’s plenty of closet space and an office. There’s also a second deck off the rear third-floor bedroom.
Like we said, there’s a lot to recommend this place, listed by Corcoran broker Nichole Thompson-Adams. And it’s priced accordingly: $4,000,000 is the ask (okay, a dollar under that).
How do you like the place?

Actually, it is mentioned in the listing. No photos though, which is alway suspicious.
The area is absolutely lovely. So that’s that question taken care of. House is exquisite. It would smart a bit to drop 4 million and still have to use window AC, however. Not exactly an insurmountable problem, though. Re: garden, it does seem odd that it’s not mentioned in the listing. There is obviously a large extension, but looking at google satellite, it does appear you still have quite a bit of space left.
This house is definitely gorgeous, and on a very pretty looking block
But with all of the crime that’s posted on this blog that’s going on in the area, is it worth spending so much on Clinton Hill?
I’m just not too familiar with the neighborhood, and wasn’t really sure how much the drug dealing situation was affecting the area.
