Borough President Adams announced a $13,314,000 investment in Brooklyn schools at Midwood’s Gil Hodges elementary school on Wednesday, September 30.
Focused on improving technology initiatives and STEM education, $250,000 of the donation are allocated to create a multidisciplinary STEM/Technology Exploration/Demonstration Lab at Gil Hodges.
The Brooklyn BP presented a check honoring the total donation, and principals, officials, and representatives from 70 schools borough wide received honorary checks representing their allocation of the sum.
The lengthy list of allocations includes $500,000 for a playground at J.H.S. 50 in Williamsburg, $150,000 for solar roof panels at Park Slope’s P.S. 321, auditorium seating for Midwood High School, and $242,000 for a Harbor School Home Port at the New York Harbor School.
