Sunset Park’s Industry City is having quite the weekend on October 17 and 18.
On Saturday the food and maker hub begins its hosting duties for the Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg’s indoor winter season. But if that doesn’t meet your artisanal needs, Saturday will also be Industry City’s third Open Studios event, in which the complex will host more than 100 artists, makers, and manufacturers.
The free event will be an opportunity to watch a key part of Brooklyn’s creative industry at work, with maker-demonstrations, sample sales and unreleased work viewings.
There will also be a ticketed pop-up vintage fashion market. Discounted advance tickets are available online.
Lastly, the weekly Mister Sunday DJ dance party is holding its final outdoor shindig at Industry City from 3-9 p.m. on Sunday.

How do you get there from Brooklyn Heights?
It’s a quick trip — just take the R train from Court to 36th Street and it’s a short walk from there.

Wish them the best there; personally, I think it is a bit far to get to and don’t really understand the decision behind holding the flea so far away. Fort Greene then Crown Heights were great venues and locations; but industry city?….might as well move it to Long Island.
