Out on Pier 2, last night’s fundraising event for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy attracted a number movers and shakers from the city’s real estate and development world.

The fundraising event was co-hosted by David Kramer of Hudson Companies — the developer behind the proposal to build a condo tower on the site of the Brooklyn Heights library branch — and Amelia Wilson, founder of Armstrong Wilson Advisory. Event sponsors included developers Toll Brothers and Forest City Ratner, real estate company Douglas Elliman, and 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Park — the controversial hotel currently under construction in the park.

Over 1000 people attended the sold-out event, which raised $1,000,000 — a new record for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Proceeds from the evening will go to support the Conservancy’s free cultural, and educational activities in the park.

Michael Bloomberg was the evening’s honoree. He spoke about the inception of Brooklyn Bridge Park and thanked the people who helped make it possible.

  1. GEE. Where was Offensend? Guttman? Witty? Ashoaskonzy?
Were they not in the pics because they are morally corrupt…. even though as a Lawyer Gurrman figured away around his , Offesend and Witty purchase of condos in the park while they were lobbying the corp for amenities that make the condos more valuable.
What a great lesson in civic leadership.
I guess the real estate insider gang will be getting next years awards. Of course they have forever destroyed a public view.
This was allowed by the BHA and big money real estate.. I am sure David Kramer past president of the conservancy and proposed developer of the BPL Library destruction plan still loves this group
these folks want to destroy libraries and views and keep all the good stuff for themselves
Hank Offensend Guttman = HOG ( all for me … none for everyone else)
