Brooklyn Heights Hotel -- Bossert Plans to Reopen by Winter

Brooklyn Heights’ historic Bossert Hotel may finally reopen this winter under the operation of Argentinian hotelier Fën Hotels, the Brooklyn Paper reported.

The Bossert will not be Fën Hoteles’ first venture in Brooklyn, as they recently opened the Dazzler Brooklyn downtown, on Flatbush Avenue Extension and Tillary Street. UnderFën’s discretion, the Bossert Hotel will be transformed into the “Esplendor Bossert.”

A former Jehovah’s Witness property, the 14-story, 106-year-old, landmarked Bossert has had its reopening delayed multiple times since developers David Bistricer and Joseph Chetrit began renovating the building in 2012.

As Brownstoner’s own Montrose Morris wrote, the Montague Street hotel was originally the site of the Pierrepont Hotel, until it was torn down by lumberman Louis Bossert in 1908. Following demolition, Bossert constructed the current Bossert Hotel in its place.

  1. WOW — I cant believe we have waited FOREVER for this to open and now we learn it is going to be cheap crap. I cant believe that a leading hotel wouldn’t want this property. It must be because there is no parking so they don’t think they can fill it just by people getting there with public transportation.

Jeez – Monty Street just gets worse and worse. Nicer in Mineola…

  3. Who the heck do you think you are? I’m allowed to have an opinion… You are either just a hyper-sensitive dope or a self-involved party here. For the record, I think it is going to crap because I stayed in their property by choice once in Buenos Aires for two weeks and it was junk and then because I had to for a wedding in Tamarido (also garbage).
