Van Leeuwen, an artisanal frozen treats company that started in a Brooklyn apartment in 2007, has since expanded into a miniature ice cream empire, including multiple trucks and stores around both New York and L.A.

While the company is more history in the making than historic, the Brooklyn Historical Society is hosting a talk by founders Laura O’Neill, Benjamin Van Leeuwen, and Peter Van Leeuwen on the runaway success of their business and the whimsical story of its founding. They’ll also be reading from their new recipe book, Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream. And maybe they’ll even give out a few samples.

The stories are tonight, Thursday, August 6, at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $5, or free for members.
