  1. Could not agree more with all that ClntHill has to say. This is an absoulte slap in the face to the neighborhood. It’s Hamsterdam from The Wire – brazen illegal activity of every kind conducted with impunity. All of the players seem confident that they can operate with no consequences. 88th Precinct, what are you doing? That being said, I spoke with the detective on this case yesterday. He gave me the usual “we can’t do it without the community, yada yada.” The one thing I did take away is he said whenever you see something to call 911 NOT the precinct. 911 must dispatch a car. I asked what level of activity warrants a 911 call and he said ANYTHING. Call early and often. Let’s all call enough that we reach a point of critical mass and someone has to pay attention. We are calling you out Tish James, Ken Thompson and Captain Peter Fiorillo.

  2. I once heard that some of the dealers wives/ girlfriends work in the 88th precinct and either have influence over what happens to the dealers, or tip off their dealer pals when they hear anything. I have no idea if it’s true.

  3. The precinct meetings are a joke; and Community Affairs will just tell you to go to them. That’s where the 88th puts out the usual party line: “We can’t do it without you, you have to be our eyes and ears.” But if you tell them anything about that corner, your name and what you told them is on the street immediately, and you get threatened by the people you reported. That corner and a couple houses in the vicinity associated with it have been a blot on the landscape for at least four decades – and the 88th knows all about it.

  4. I think it’s easy to say that Ken and Letitia “don’t care” about the situation, however being a NY native and having lived on this block for over 13 years and being involved, this area has improved tremendously, especially under James’ watch. She has worked effortlessly in working to get rid of alot of the long standing issues on that corner specifically. The truth is that everyone that is on that corner is not a drug dealer and we need to really take a step back before we make those kind of judgements. New York City, whether in Bensonhurst or Clinton Hill, has long standing traditions of neighborhoods and its people; which if your not from here then you might not understand.
