An over-the-top Park Slope mansion actress Jennifer Connelly once called home is back in the news again.

Park Slope’s 17 Prospect Park West, built by architect Montrose Morris in 1899, was big news in 2003 when Connelly and fellow actor Paul Bettany bought it for $3,700,000 — a shocking price until five years later when they sold it to to a Google engineer for $8,450,000. And now, according to The Real Deal, the mansion has sold again, for $12,400,000.

The sale, for those of you who are keeping track, doesn’t break any records. First prize for the most expensive Brooklyn townhouse sale goes to the Cobble Hill townhouse sold in June for $15,500,000. (And, to put things in perspective, that doesn’t come close to the $32,000,000 ask for this penthouse at One Brooklyn Bridge Park.)

But we digress. The $12,400,000 sale of 17 Prospect Park West must have been a slight disappointment, as the property listed in late 2014 for $14,000,000. The pictures from the listing give us an inside look at the extensive renovations done by its last owner. Maybe all the renovation in the world can’t keep it from feeling, as Jennifer Connelly once called it, creepy.

“It was a little big,” the Brooklyn native once told Conan O’Brien. “Frankly, it was a little like Scooby-Doo, creepy, you know, like the haunted mountain mansion.”

Also worth noting is the unusual name of the LLC that bought it, Goodie Yags, LLC. No, that’s not the stage name of a ’90s rapper or a fortune teller-comedian. It’s a “Brooklyn family,” according to the New York Post.
