Yesterday, a commenter tipped us off to a construction accident in Clinton Hill. According to no-permits:

“there was a partial collapse and a worker who fell off a scaffold at 128 cambridge today. this is next to a very slow moving new construction project at 132 cambridge. 132 was a wood frame with a lot of potential that i don’t even know how they tore down because the block is landmarked.”

More info after the jump.

When we stopped by to snap these photos this morning, a neighbor told us the top of the scaffolding collapsed and one worker was hurt.

Taking a gander at 128’s property profile confirms that the site is under a stop work order due to yesterday’s facade collapse. No filings for work permits on facade alterations were found.

The stop work order notes: “FDNY requests a structural stability inspection due to facade collapse.”

The property profile also reports that the building had a “LARGE WHOLE” under its foundation in 2014. Hope they worked that out.

As for 128’s former neighbor at 132 Cambridge Place, the now-demolished wood frame building was a House of the Day in 2008. In the photo for that post, you can just see 128 peeking out on the right:

According to the 1987 landmarks designation for Clinton Hill (PDF), the historic district ends on Cambridge Place just between 128 and 132. So 132 technically wasn’t landmarked.
