447 Meeker Avenue

Permits have been filed for a new six-story apartment building at 447 Meeker Avenue in Greenpoint. The site of the proposed 8,263 square foot building is alongside the BQE near the corner of Graham Avenue. It will have 13 units if it is approved.

It is one of a number of new apartment buildings planned along Meeker close to the highway. A seven-story, 50 unit building is planned for 406 Manhattan Avenue at the corner of Meeker Avenue. Rental building Leonard Pointe, designed by Karl-Fischer and Durukan Design, opened last year on the former site of the Meeker Flea, at 395 Leonard Street near the corner of Meeker and the BQE, as we have reported.

The existing building at 447 Meeker Street sits on a 2,500-square-foot irregularly shaped lot. It was listed for $2,350,000, and according to StreetEasy it is now in contract.

The building permits were filed on June 12 and call for seven parking spaces for cars and seven bicycle parking spots. Floors two through five will have three apartments each. The sixth floor will have a single unit. A 275-square-foot roof deck is planned as well.
