416 ocean avenue 3

Here’s a spacious and affordable three-bedroom co-op for rent near the park in Flatbush. There are three nicely sized bedrooms, a large separate living room, and a windowless office off the foyer. Beamed ceilings and herringbone floors also give it a nice prewar feel. However, the co-op board does have to approve any potential renters. What are your thoughts on it for $2,600 a month?

  1. Gorgeous building and apartment, I agree that it might have been sub-divided from an original rather grand two-bedroom, but the rooms are still nicely sized and this is an amazing deal for a family, seriously, if I lived in BK, I would jump at it.

  2. This is a nice building. I looked at a very nice 1 bedroom co-op here last year. Great lobby and an elevator with beautiful brass doors. The apartment had two entrances which led to different stairwells – I think they were originally for “the help”.
This is one of the many buildings that brokers refer to as “Former Hotel for the Brooklyn Dodgers”. They can’t all be that, but this one is certainly grand enough. This area is full of buildings like this which were intended to be luxurious. However most are not co-op and not all are in this good shape.
Many of the co-ops have views of the park. Not sure if this one does.

  3. this is an AMAZING deal. that building is one of the prettiest in the area–wish i could have bought it in if only for the lovely exterior. it’s literally across the street from the express B train too. $2600 is a steal especially since it’s got a loooot of common living space.

  4. that’s right; i’m paid to shill. anyone with anything positive to say must be on someone’s illuminati payroll!

look, the reality is that i live and own within two blocks of the place. of course i want to rep my neighborhood as much as possible. duh.
