The owners of Mile End and Rucola will open an oyster bar in the tiny space at the corner of Hoyt and State in Boerum Hill that has been for rent for ages. When we passed by yesterday, we noticed a sign in the window saying Rucola owner Julian Brizzi intends to open a bar and restaurant and is applying for a liquor license. The space was previously home to a cafe and sandwich shop.

The 18-seat bar will serve craft cocktails, beer and oysters and aims to open in February, according to TimeOut, which first wrote about the plans. Click through to see the sign in the window. GMAP

  1. That’s not State Street, that’s Pacific Street. Yes, it was the Victory Cafe and there was an associated Victory Kitchen on Smith Street. Much loved spot. Closed because former owner raised the rent. He has since sold that property and several others on Hoyt.
