A Bed Stuy landlord hung a sign on his building at 203 Ralph Avenue in Bed Stuy yesterday to honor the two policemen killed Saturday in the neighborhood. The sign reads:

The citizens of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, mourn the loss of officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos. Courteous, professional, respectful. Protecting us, serving us. May they rest in peace.

Before he hung the sign, he “took it by the 81 precinct first. They loved it,” Robert Mulzac told us. This is not the first time the retired firefighter has expressed himself with a sign. In July, you may recall, he draped three banners calling out City Council Member Darlene Mealy for being a “deadbeat tenant.” The building has served as offices for various local politicians for decades.
