House of the Day: 58 Powers Street

Here’s a brand new townhouse in Williamsburg with decent looking interiors and energy efficient construction. It’s also relatively affordable — at least compared to other new construction townhouses in the area selling for more than twice the ask.

We’re not sure which “Passive House methods” of construction mentioned in the listing were used, but we don’t see a boiler on the floor plan. We like the metal and reclaimed wood stairs and the look of the kitchen, although the placement of the hood in front of the windows is awkward, and there’s not enough built-in storage space for dishes and food. The keyless front door, lights, music, window shades and other electronics can be controlled from built-in panels or a smart phone.

Unfortunately, we don’t know what the outside of the building looks like, since it’s not included in the listing (or anywhere else we could find).

The building is 1,732 square feet, and the architect is Gerald J. Caliendo, according to DOB filings.

What do you think of it and the ask of $2,000,000?
