The bookcases are a horror. And no outdoor space?
Terrible layout. Who wants the smaller second bedroom next to the kitchen? No one. I agree the bookcases are pretty awful overwhelming. They might look okay if they were actually fills with books, but the half-display, half-bookshelf function of them is not good. If you need this many shelves they should be packed with books, in my opinion.
I love the bookshelves. I’m the only one it seems. But you’re right they need to be packed with books for aesthetic and other reasons. A wall packed with books absorbs sound, too, which in these old brownstone buildings is always a good thing. When we lived in a brownstone co-op in Park Slope ours and the neighbors’ noise came in and went out all over up and down and around. Hated it so much it’s what sent us to a then emerging neighborhood to a one-family house.
They sure have a lot of different styles of pendant lights. Agree about the shelves, just a bit much. On the positive side, the main room has impressive proportions.
$1.495? That’s a million dollars per bedroom.
