757 bergen street crown heights 92014

The wrecking ball is coming for this little dilapidated wood frame at 757 Bergen Street in Crown Heights between Grand and Washington Avenues. A three-story, three-unit apartment building is planned to replace it.

Developer Oren Evenhar of Evenhar Development Corp. filed a demo application for the home in mid-August, but it hasn’t been approved yet. A new building application was disapproved last month.

Construction fencing has already gone up around the house and the vacant lot next door, where another three-story, three unit building is also planned. Both lots are 25 feet wide, although the wood frame house is only 20 feet wide. All over Brooklyn, developers are tearing down frame houses on oversize lots and replacing them with apartment buildings.

Rybak Architects is the architect of record on both buildings. Public records show Evenhar, under the guise of various LLCs, paid $467,042 for the house in a series of transactions in 2012 and 2013;  he paid $100,000 for the adjacent lot in 2012.
