The townhouse trend that has been so popular elsewhere in Brooklyn of late is coming to Red Hook. Brooklyn-based developer Sanba Partners is planning a large number of row houses — 22 — at 115 King Street, reported The Real Deal. They will be designed by AA Studio, headed up by Italian architect Aldo Andreoli, who used to work with architect Morris Adjmi.

Each house will be about 2,600 square feet, with its own roof deck, back yard, and — crucial for transit-starved Red Hook — parking. The developers are aiming to put the houses on the market in spring 2016. They will be repped by Douglas Elliman.

Sandy had a “chilling effect” on the market in Red Hook, according to the story. The story made it sound as though town homes are unusual in Red Hook, but in fact row houses are common there (as are warehouses and apartments). There is even a large group of row houses that were built sometime in the last few decades for low-income families.

Right now, the property has one factory on it. No estimate yet on prices for the town homes, but we are looking forward to seeing the designs from AA Studio.
