255 eastern parkway crown heights 82014

Here’s a huge four-bedroom, two-bath co-op for rent in a prewar building in Crown Heights. The 1,675-square-foot pad was gut-renovated in ’06 and has a clean, modern feel. There’s a formal dining room, a “library nook” and lots of closets. However one of the bathrooms is ensuite, which is somewhat inconvenient. What’s your opinion of it for $5,200 a month?

  1. I have lived in this neighborhood fir decades and witnessed the rapid degentification moreso over recent years. The description and the few pictures shown of the apartment at 255 does not support such an enormous asking price. The prices asked for many of these buildings are way overpriced considering the neighborhood including this building. It’s time to refocus on building community again verses these realtors/brokers greed.

  2. It looks great; very roomy. An en suite bath is not a problem, though, if the unit is being rented to a family. Mom and Dan can treat the bedroom with the en suite bath as a master bedroom and bath, so that they don’t have to share their bath with the kiddies. The kiddies will share their bathroom, then.

  3. I think that’s more than a fair price for such a large apartment in such an in-demand neighborhood. This complex is on a prime stretch of Eastern Parkway and is in Prospect Heights (I know many on this site will call that area Crown Heights, but I say its in Prospect Heights, as did the people who named Prospect Heights High School on Classon Ave.), a stone’s throw away from the Brooklyn Museum, Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park, BBG, etc. And it’s fairly recently renovated. To be honest, the only downside about this place is its location next to Clara Barton and the Prospect Heights High School Campus, which is comprised of several high schools; though, those schools have been improving in terms of education statistics and lowered crime rates from what I gather.
