100 south 4th street williamsburg

It’s been a few years since we heard anything about the Rocket Factory Lofts at 100 South 4th Street in Williamsburg, a Scarano-designed factory conversion once owned by murdered Brooklyn landlord Menachem Stark. Meadow Partners recently acquired the seven-story rental building and plans to upgrade the kitchens and bathrooms with new finishes, renovate the lobby and install a common roof deck, according to a spokesperson.

Aptsandlofts will rep the improved building, which has 75 lofts consisting of studios, one- and two-bedrooms. New rental prices haven’t been announced yet, but current listings range from $3,500 to $4,800.

Stark and his partner, Sam Perlmutter, bought the former factory for $9,000,000 in 2006, according to public records. But they ran into trouble during the recession and in 2009 filed for bankruptcy when their mortgage lender tried to foreclose on the property’s $29,000,000 mortgage, The Real Deal reported in May. Meadow planned to pay $52,000,000 for the building, according to that TRD story, but the deal hasn’t hit public records yet.  GMAP
