357 7th street park slope 82014

Frito Company heir Kaleta Doolin is building this modern, silvery home at 357 7th Street in Park Slope. We discovered the rendering back in October, and the house matches pretty closely.

At the time, we thought that the three-story, single-family home had a ’70s modernism feel. The architect is Lynch/Eisinger/Design, whose website says the building will have a sculpture studio, drawing studio, an archive on the lower level, and a residence on the upper floor.

Doolin, a mixed-media artist, bought the land for $1,400,000 in 2008 and will spend an estimated $1,300,000 on the construction. All told, it will be 3,000 square feet.

What do you think of it now?

  1. I’m okay with the shiny exterior. I just think the overhang is a bad move. There will be even less light on the first floor than on a regular house.
Unless they were running out of FAR, I don’t get it.
