The Greene Grape Annex’s new space at 753 Fulton Street is light and airy, with lots of big windows and a white-painted tin ceiling. There is seating on a raised platform in a window with books and magazines to read, as well as a communal table, a bar and small tables.

The cafe is not a full-service restaurant (as we had thought it might be) but serves a variety of small plates and desserts along with espresso drinks, beer and wine and is open late. When we stopped by in the afternoon, we saw lots of people with laptops and a coffee; in the evening, couples and small groups gathered over dessert and drinks.

The vintage and new furnishings combine white painted metal, brass, wood and leather for a modern but warm feel. The counter is faced in marble.

The space was designed by new Fort Greene based design firm The Anchor Council, according to DNAinfo. Lighting designer Nadia Belalia and potter Lea Ball also contributed, said the story.
